I haven’t watched a full episode of Saturday Night Live since 2001. Personally, I feel like the show started recruiting attractive improv actors around that time in place of actual comedians. Jimmy Fallon led the revolution; a dweeb with an adorable face. On top of that, the show started booking whoever was at the top of the charts to be the music guests. Yada yada yada, the show is so predictable and can no longer keep up with political satire with competing shows like The Daily Show, The Colbert Report and Last Week Tonight.

But I digress…

After hearing a lot of people were offended by Chris Rock‘s monologue from this past Saturday, I decided to seek out the clip. Let me tell you this…The guy is absolutely brilliant and his eight-minute monologue was exactly what SNL used to stand for: Counterculture. Rock went where SNL wouldn’t dare to go by making jokes about the Boston Marathon, 9/11 and the commercialization of American holidays.

I laughed out loud several times.
